Health assessments are available for patients who, in the clinical judgment of a medical practitioner and based on the identification of a specific risk factor, have the possibility to develop a chronic disease.
Such risk factors may include, but are not limited to:
- Lifestyle: smoking, physical inactivity, lack of healthy food/nutrition or alcohol and drug use
- Biomedical: high cholesterol, elevated blood pressure, impaired glucose metabolism or excess weight
- Genetic: a family history of chronic disease
Wellcrest offers two free health assessments (no health insurance needed) to such patients: one for 45 to 49-year-olds and another for those aged 75 and above.
All of our GPs offer this service, which entails a 15-minute consultation with a doctor and then a 1 hour appointment with our practice nurse. Our nurse service is available during the week from 9am – 5pm.
During the consultation, the patient’s overall state in the health department will be assessed and as such, a physical examination, ECG and blood tests are required.
